Eid madness was also crammed in with errands, meetings, throwing ideas and falling ill. Spare time was an elusive ninja I’d rather talk shit in bed with the workaholic husband. Jay would say “Nin, you’re no different.”
To get quality time with my husband might call for some tantrums or really outright anger. But I can’t say he’s not making an effort now, after such episodes. I am with him 24 hours a day, almost every day. We work together too. But we can do some days with an actual total of 15 minutes of conversation in 1 day. If we talk about pure conversation outside of work, yeah about 15 minutes per day. It’s hard to separate personal time and work time. And I know exactly where he’s coming from because I used to be just the same. I couldn’t stop talking about work even when I was out with friends. And you’re at the beck and call of your merciless mobile phone. And you didn’t even realize it. Until one day, you fell really ill and the doctor told you, “If you keep going at this rate, you might not be able to work for a long while”.
I’m a recovering workaholic trying to slow my husband down. But at the same time, I fully understand why he needs to sacrifice all his time and health. At this critical period.
Anyhow, after all the digression, I’m just going to share my Eid photos. I spent the first few days in my father’s hometown, Malacca. A first in many years. And then back to Singapore to spend it with my mom’s side. We also did an Open House at my parents’. Another first in years. But this time around, Helmindra and I cooked
And we decided… let’s not do Malay cuisine for a change. When you go visiting the entire day, I’m sure you get sick of the same things served at every house.

Looks like a successful Eid season to me. Again, real sorry that I missed your Open House. Especially now that I know you guys served non-traditional nosh! Boo!
And that mosque looks amazing. Shall drop by when I go through there one of these days.
