So the last month had drained me out. My husband decided I needed to do absolutely nothing for a few days. Our relationship, time and communication outside of work was down to zero. I had planned a trip to KL for a couple of work meetings. So he said I should organize my meetings or anything work related in the earlier part and for the rest of the trip I should just stop thinking. Clear the head. Sometimes it’s good to take time off from each other. I almost didn’t want to go but he ordered nondescriptly, “Go to KL, get fat and come back retarded.” A plan it was then. 4 days in Kuala Lumpur.
My brother’s job was to drive me around and feed me!
With more time on my hands, I managed to catch up with as many friends just floating with the flow. Coincidentally, Rina and Ian was also in KL over that weekend to attend an electronic festival at KLPAC. Since my brother was leaving to Malacca for shoot on Sunday morning, I joined Rina and Ian to sleep over at Emmy’s from Saturday night onwards. Last few trips to KL was always touch and go for work – everything was an inevitable rush. This time, I managed to enjoy Kuala Lumpur at my own pace which allowed me to submerge myself with the environment to imagine living and working there. Well… definitely not in KL itself but considerable with the likes of Damansara.
But because I was all excited sometimes I forgot to take pictures – of the siput buluh, cockles cooked in some sort of sauce, pesto chicken sandwich from Wondermilk and hmmm… Basil! Not basil the herb but Basil the dude.
And I got this from Emmy! Her first DIY piece
She custom accessories. So, if anyone is interested, do let me know.

Looks like you’ve finally managed some down-time. Cutting loose agrees with you, buddy. And the food! I’m having a major craving for Nasi Padang at the moment. In a packet and all mixed together. Yumms! Droolsome.
And was that the seafood place in front of the Vistana Hotel? Dad had a phase where he’d take us there like- EVERYDAY. Fair enough, since we were practically living there at the time. I miss the Ikan Tiga Rasa and the Steamed Fish. Good stuff! BOOO! I wanna go home!
We shall go on a food rampage when I get back, mmm-kay? Hungry, dah!
hi nina
I love your blog =D I might just use some of your entries for my EL lessons, very good for personal recount, your entries are exactly what I have been trying to get the kids to do…”vividly describe your personal experiences…” You can never go wrong with personal experiences…you just need to learn how well to describe it…and that’s exactly what you’ve done *clap clap*
heh…kids these days…they often think of writing about stuff that are waaay beyond their years of experience…and sometimes…put themselves in highly imaginative, abnormal scenarios…I appreciate the creativity…hehe…but of course…language skills and content…just go hand in hand at the end of the day.
ok i think i got carried away with my comment…needless to say…we sometimes try to find a space to air out our gripes..woops.
anyways, i love the quirkly little hat your friend, emmy, designed..you think she could work on something real pretty for me to wear as a headpiece on my wedding day…? i saw something on etsy.com, and it’s just too expensive with the shipping and all…it’d be great if I could show her a sample…
till then, cheers… don’t stop writing =)
i meant quirky not “quirkly” but i guess it’d be ok to use that in another part of the world..=p
hey mar. thanks for your lovely note
