LOCAL CHINESE AND MALAY ARTISTES SHOWING ITS WAY FOR RACIAL HARMONY @ GLAMOR 2010

The occasion is a record-breaking red carpet event to celebrate the launch of the Malay Artistes Association (MAA). Now, the newly formed Management Committee has much more to celebrate as the Chinese Artistes and Performers Association are attending the hi-tea event to show their support and solidarity. In addition to token exchange, two of their Vice-Presidents will be joining the star-studded line-up of more than 30 Malay performing artistes to sing a song each. The 1st Vice-President Mr Yap Say Pin (a Mediacorp artiste) will be singing ‘Bengawan Solo’ while the 2nd Vice President Ms Amy Koh (former Mediacorp artistes) will be singing ‘Gong Xi Gong Xi’. This will pave the way for more cooperation and collaboration between the two associations.

Registered in late October 2009, MAA seeks to uplift the professional standards of the Malay artistes’ community in Singapore with its welfare efforts, skills upgrading courses, members’ activities as well as talent management and promotions.

Pop icon of Malaysia – Ogy Ahmad Daud, one of Indonesian brightest stars – Intan Nuraini and Singapore’s own favourite – Hady Mirza (Singapore and Asian Idol) will be leading an all-stars line-up that also include Black Dog Bone, Sleeq, Hyrul Anwar, Eka Mairina, Salma, Faizal Isa, Revalina, Iron Will, Mak Dara and many of MAA’s own committee members. Glamor 2010 has also attracted come-back artistes such as Norleena Salim of the Boom Boom Room and Under One Roof fame who had just arrived in Singapore this morning. Glamor 2010 also commemorates the 2nd Anniversary of Malay entertainment brand Selebriti.
